Welcome to another week of the Learning Kid Link-Up. A party for homeschooling, learning activities, kids crafts or anything that has to do with learning and kids. The party begins every Thursday at 7am EST.
Learning With My Daughter
The last week or so has been an adjustment in our family as we are getting back into the school routine. We have new schedules, new learning goals for the year, and new classes my daughter is signed up for. I even enrolled in a class myself!
My daughter takes dance classes every year and last year I had the opportunity to learn a dance with her – a dance about mothers – for the yearly show. It was several months of regular rehearsals and practice performances, before the big 2 days where we performed the dance in 4 different shows. It was more fun than I could have imagined, and I realized how much fun performing for a live audience is.
So this year I decided I wanted to take a dance class myself and took my first class this week, an adult version of what my daughter is doing. It was quite vigorous but I’m going to appreciate being able to practice with my daughter, a fun past time we can enjoy together.
I also tried out a Level 3 dance which is reserved for 14+ but I think I looked just ridiculous trying to do the splits alongside some teenage pros – the teacher actually laughed at my attempt, I can’t even blame her.
Last week “Homegrown: Living Life Together” shared with us 10 Ways to Have Fun With Food Coloring. For some really cool science lessons and other fun learning opportunities involving food colouring, be sure to check this one out!
