Welcome to the Learning Kid Link-Up. A homeschooling link-up party for learning activities, kids crafts or anything that has to do with learning and kids. The party begins every Thursday at 7am EST.
I’d like to thank everyone who linked up with us last week. It was our best week yet, and hopefully we will continue to grow week after week. Keep sharing your great posts with us, we love reading them. All 3 of us visit each post linked up, and we comment and share on various social medias as we each choose to do so.
Our most viewed post last week was 8 Dollar Store Busy Bags from Embark On The Journey.
My personal favourite post of last week was from “Colors of our Rainbow”. Learning Math With Popsicle Sticks. Such a simple but great visual way for kids to practice their addition.
I will be trying this out with my daughter. She’s pretty good at mentally moving amounts from one addend to another to make adding numbers much simpler. (For example 9+3, would be easier as 10+2.) The more we practice, the better she gets, and this will be another great way for her to practice. It’s not really about mental math, but I can see the benefits for improving mental math. And it even looks fun :).
And now for this week’s party :).
