How to Play
Playing this road trip I Spy alphabet game is easy and requires no prep beyond printing the page.
- Give your child the printable and a pencil or crayon.
- As you drive, they’ll try to find one item for each letter of the alphabet (for example, “A” for ambulance, “B” for bridge, “C” for car).
- When they spot something that starts with a certain letter, they can either:
- Write it down in the space next to the letter
- Draw a small picture
- Or simply check off the letter if writing isn’t their thing
Kids can play solo, work together with a sibling, or even compete to see who finds the whole alphabet first!
Easier Version of the Game
This I Spy game is a fun, flexible ABC travel game that can be played at any age or skill level.
Preschoolers, kindergartners, and children learning their ABCs can play a much easier version of the game.
They can look at road signs, billboards, license plates, and other similar items to locate each letter of the alphabet from A to Z.
All they have to do is put a little check beside each letter as they find it. And there’s enough space on the page that they can play many times throughout the trip.
Fun Tip
To make this alphabet I Spy game reusable for multiple kids or future road trips, try laminating the page and using a dry-erase marker.
That way, kids can wipe it clean and play again another time!
