Here is a free printable f is for frog craft for preschoolers.
It’s a fun alphabet worksheet for kindergarten students learning about the letter F sound.
This lowercase letter f activity will start as a preschool color-by-number coloring activity.
After coloring the 11 different sections of the frog, kids will get to build the frog. The body of the frog is made up of the lowercase letters f, r, o, and g. Then they only need to add the head, eyes, and legs to finish their paper frog craft.
How to Make This Letter F Craft
Gather the supplies needed and follow the steps below to make the f is for frog preschool craft.
Supplies
Only a few basic arts and crafts supplies are needed:
- crayons (or pencil crayons) – a green and yellow-green crayon (optional: brown crayon)
(the 16 Crayola crayons package, or any package with more than 16, has both colors, as well as brown) - glue stick
- pair of scissors
- color by number craft printed on 1 page of white letter size paper – see file below to download PDF
- 1 page of construction paper or white letter size paper
- a pencil (optional)
Directions
The f is for frog craft can be made in 4 easy steps.
Step 1 – Color by number activity
Children only need 2 crayons to complete this color by number: 1 for green and 2 for yellow-green.
Step 2 – Cut out the letters and body parts
After coloring, preschoolers can practice their scissor skills and cut out the amphibian’s 4 letters and 7 body parts.
They only need to cut out the outer edge of each part. The holes in the lowercase o and g do not need to be cut out.
Step 3 – Build the frog
Next, they must build the frog by putting all their pieces in the correct spot. Children can look at the template of the finished frog craft to see where each piece goes.
Step 4 – Glue the frog together
Once the frog is built, it’s time to glue it together. This can be done by gluing it on a piece of construction paper or regular blank paper, landscape orientation.
If choosing a white piece of paper, children could draw a simple log or even a lily pad. The frog could then be pasted to look like it was sitting on the log or lily pad.
