Combine spring fun with learning with these free printable spring word builder puzzles for kids.
Each puzzle challenges students to build as many words as they can using the letters from a jumbled spring word.
There are 12 different puzzles, each with its own spring word. The letters are scrambled, so kids will first try to figure out the main word and then see how many other words they can create using those same letters.
Each puzzle has spaces for 2, 3, 4, or longer words, helping students know how many words they should try to find. And don’t worry, every word in the puzzle is a real word that kids will recognize.
The puzzles are a fun spring themed spelling and vocabulary activity for the classroom or home.
The printable is free to download and print.

How to Solve the Word Builder Puzzles
There are 2 puzzles on each page. Each puzzle begins with a jumbled spring word.
If kids can unscramble the spring word, they will have figured out the longest word. The word can be written in the taller rectangular space provided.
If they can’t figure out the main word right away, they can come back to it later.
The letters from the jumbled word can be used to build as many words as possible. The letters can be used to form words in any order, but each letter can only be used as many times as it appears in the puzzle.
Each puzzle includes spaces for the words, and kids will be able to see how many letters each word should have. This helps students organize the words they discover.
Encourage kids to start with shorter words and then see if they can find longer ones.
As an extra challenge, they can try to see who can find the most words before checking the answer key.
