Difficulty Level

These number bond worksheets are best for students in preschool and kindergarten.

They were designed for young learners who are interested in math but are not yet ready for worksheets that require a lot of writing. Instead, children learn through coloring, tracing, cutting and pasting, counting, and verbal responses.

My goal with this series was to provide maximum learning with minimal writing, making it easier for younger children to build number sense and confidence.

Most activities work best with a parent, teacher, or caregiver available to guide children through the verbal portions of the worksheets.

This worksheet was designed to teach the number bonds of 4 with very little writing. Most of the learning happens through conversation between the child and a parent, teacher, or caregiver.

Children will color the die showing 4 and the hand showing 4 fingers while discussing the pictures with an adult.

The number pairs that make 4 are displayed as a visual guide, and children can practice saying the addition facts out loud rather than writing the answers down.

Black and white printable decomposing 4 coloring math worksheet for young learners. The page has 3 groups of 4 squares. Each group has 2 squares high and 2 squares wide. Kids are directed to color the squares specific colors. After coloring they will write addition sentences by filling in the blanks with how many blocks of a color plus the amount of blocks in another color equals the number of total blocks.

It’s a hands-on way to show that 1 + 3, 2 + 2, and 3 + 1 can all make 4.

Domino Number Bonds to 4 Coloring Worksheet

This page uses dominoes to practice adding numbers that total 4.

Kids add the dots on each domino and color them based on the sum. They’ll also color a ten frame showing 4, decide whether 4 is odd or even, and trace the word four.

A printable black and white number 4 coloring worksheet. There are 8 dominoes with dots that total up to 4. Kids are asked to color the dominoes different colors depending on their total. Kids are then shown what 4 looks like in a 10 frame and are asked to color the circles their favorite colors. There's an image of a number 4 in a stain glass window look. Kids are to color it green if 4 is even and black if 4 is odd. There's also 2 spots for kids to trace the number word four.
