Supplies
You likely already have everything needed for this activity.
You will need:
- printed fairy tale craft pages
- scissors
- glue stick
- crayons, markers, or colored pencils
Optional:
- cardstock for durability
- laminator for reuse
- craft sticks and school glue or tape for puppet-style play
Instructions
1. Print the pages
Choose the black-and-white pages for coloring or the full-color versions for quick assembly.
2. Color the pieces
Encourage children to decorate the characters and castle however they like.
3. Cut out the parts
Carefully cut along the outer edges of each piece.
4. Assemble the characters
There’s a small picture in the top right of each page that kids can use to figure out where each piece should go. Glue the pieces together to build the fairy tale character or castle.
For extra fun, tape or glue a popsicle stick to the back to turn the finished character into a mini puppet for storytelling and pretend play.
5. Let the storytelling begin
Use the finished creations for pretend play, storytelling, or creating a fairy tale scene.
