Kids will recognize favorite quotes like:
- “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
- “Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try.”
- “I meant what I said and I said what I meant.”
- “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”

Bookmarks Encourage a Love of Reading
Bookmarks may seem simple, but they can play a powerful role in building positive reading habits.
When children have their own bookmark, it:
- gives them a sense of ownership over their reading
- makes returning to a book easy and inviting
- adds excitement and personality to reading time
- encourages daily reading routines
- helps build independence and confidence
Coloring their own bookmark adds an extra layer of fun.
Supplies Needed
You only need a few simple supplies:
- printer
- white cardstock
- scissors
- crayons, markers, or colored pencils (for coloring versions)
Paper & Durability Tips
- Cardstock is ideal for sturdy bookmarks.
- Regular printer paper works but laminating will help them last longer.
- If laminating, leave a small border around edges to keep the seal secure.
- Clear contact paper or packing tape can be used as a quick alternative to laminating.
Instructions
- Download the printable using the link below.
- Open the file and select the pages you want to print.
If you want the coloring pages, that will be pages 1 & 2, and the fully colored pages 3 & 4.
However, there are 4 bookmarks, but I could only get 3 on a page. The fourth bookmark is on a different page, along with 2 others rather than being printed alone. So you may decide just to print one of the pages. - Print on cardstock for best durability.
- Choose “Actual Size” or “100% Scale” in printer settings for accurate sizing.
- Cut out the bookmarks along the edges.
- Let kids color the black and white versions.
- Laminate for extra durability (optional).
