The printable word search is fun (and educational) for preschool or kindergarten.

Choose to print in color or a black-and-white version. You can also choose to print with uppercase or lowercase letters.

Printable camping themed word search for kindergarten. There are 10 words hidden in a 6X8 very large print grid of letters. Each of the words to find have a picture above it helping kids to be able to read each word. The words and images are of a bag, bugs, camp, can, fire, hat, map, pan, tent, and tree. The puzzle is decorated with marshmallows on a stick. The images are in color but there's another version in black and white that kids can color if they wish.

Difficulty Level

This is a beginner level word search ideal for young children who are new to word searches, especially kindergarteners and preschoolers.

Kids don’t need to be able to read to do this puzzle, as each word has a picture beside it showing them what the word is.

Words to Find

The camping word search has 10 hidden words for kids to find and circle. 

There are 6 CVC words:

  1. bag
  2. bugs
  3. can
  4. hat
  5. map
  6. pan

And a few simple 4 letter words:

  1. camp
  2. fire
  3. tent
  4. tree

The camping words are hidden in a 6 X 8 grid of large print letters.  

The words are easy to find. They can be found horizontally in the direction we read (from left to right) or vertically (from top to bottom). There are no diagonal, backward, or upside-down words.

Educational Learning Activity

The kindergarten level word search helps kids build reading skills.

Children will be able to read the words to find with the help of a small picture beside each word.

They will be reading it again when they find the word in the puzzle.

The puzzle is also a fun letter recognition activity. Kids will get to practice identifying and finding the different letters of the alphabet that make up each word.
