Learning how airplanes fly for kids.

Aviation Day is a great time to introduce kids to the world of flight and airplanes.  Aviation Day in Canada is on February 23rd of each year, and in the United States it falls on August 19th. Our family lives in a forest, so I was very happy when I saw that the theme for the Poppins Book Nook this month is "Forests and Woods".  Going along nicely with the theme, I chose the book A New Friend (The Adventures of Sophie Mouse) My daughter received this book as a gift.  The cover looks cute and adorable but I will be honest, I initially dismissed this book as a good book for when she's a bit older.  My daughter can read common kid words, but looking at the vocabulary of the book, I knew ...
