This free printable pumpkin color by number activity lets kids color, cut, and build their own 3D pumpkin house.
Instead of finishing with a regular coloring page, kids get to turn their colorful artwork into a little pumpkin house they can display.
There are 3 different pumpkin house designs to choose from, each with its own color-by-number key. Kids can make one house or create a whole little pumpkin village.
It’s a fun addition to your fall printable activities, especially for kids who enjoy coloring and making things with paper.

Supplies Needed
- printed pumpkin house color-by-number pages (white cardstock is recommended, but regular printer paper also works)
- crayons, colored pencils, or markers
- scissors
- glue
Difficulty Level
This pumpkin color by number craft is best suited for elementary-aged kids who are comfortable coloring smaller spaces and working with scissors.
The numbered sections give kids practice with number recognition, following directions, and paying attention to details.
Some of the smaller spaces require careful coloring, especially around the windows, doors, and decorations.
Assembling the houses also gives kids a chance to practice cutting, folding, and gluing. Younger children may need some help with the cutting and assembly.
How to Make a 3D Pumpkin House
Choose one of the 3 pumpkin house designs. Each one has different windows, doors, and roof patterns, so kids can choose their favorite or make all three.
Step 1: Color the Pumpkin House
Use the color key at the top of the page to color each numbered section.
Kids can use crayons, colored pencils, or markers. Colored pencils may be especially helpful for the smaller spaces.
Step 2: Cut Out the Template
Carefully cut around the outside edges of the pumpkin house template, including the tabs marked “Paste.”
Be sure to keep the tabs attached. They’ll be needed when putting the house together.
Step 3: Fold the House
Fold the template along the lines where the walls and roof sections meet. Fold the tabs marked “Paste” inward.
Crease the folds carefully to help the house hold its shape.
Step 4: Glue the House Together
Apply glue to the tabs marked “Paste” and attach the pieces to form the pumpkin house.
Allow the glue to dry before handling the finished craft.
